Emilie life
early life
Emilie was born in 1933 in the small mountain town of Kfar Hounah, Lebanon. Life was more simple in those days, Emilie often said. Most of our food came from our garden or local fruit trees, which grew wild throughout the hillsides.
The youngest of four, with two older sisters and one brother, she spent her High School years attending a private all girls school. With a very protective older brother, Emilie did not have much time with other boys. Instead, she and the girl across the street, Nejla, formed a life long bond, that has lasted until the present.
After graduation, Emilie entered the convent, which put her on course to dedicating her life to Jesus’ Mother, Our Lady Mary.
At the age of 24, Emilie’s path would drastically change, at the hand of God. She left the convent just before taking her final vows and following her heart, she moved to the United State in 1956.

It wasn’t long before Emilie met her soulmate, John Amen Farage, and shortly after, the two of them were married, on June 20th, 1958.
Jack and Emilie had six children, two girls and four boys, all of them still living in Grand Rapids, MI.
On September 2, 2002 Jack passed away, but he still lives on in Emilie’s heart. Emilie is blessed, having a great home and loving family, along with my grand children. Nonetheless, she is looking forward to seeing Jack again, when Our Lord chooses to invite her to his home.
Emilie still lives in the home that the two of them purchased and moved into in Feb of 1959. Emile is 92 years old, and makes rosaries daily.
